As part of their coverage of the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society in Deauville, France, US business news channel CNBC asked Sandra E. Peterson to write about how she became CEO of Bayer CropScience as the first American and the first female in this hierarchi level in the history of the Bayer Group.
In the article she explains that two distinctive activities supported her career success: Taking on big challenges and risks, and creating a collaborative spirit . “People need to be put at ease with each other to create a winning spirit that celebrates diverse perspectives based on different genders, generations, and geographies,” she says. “It is a truly delicate balance between creating a collaborative spirit spirit for your teams to thrive and deliver outstanding results based on the needs of your customer”, Peterson explains. In her approach she is trying to work collaboratively with her colleagues and be appreciated for what she contributed, helping her colleagues to succeed as well.
